We have stayed in Kolea 8A many times because we love it! It is the perfect home for a Hawaiian vacation. The location couldn't be better at Kolea in Waikoloa Beach, right between the Hilton and Marriott hotels. It is in walking distance to all the shops and restaurants, and a quick walk to the beach through the pool house. The location of the condo right across from the pool is so convenient. How beautiful when the tiki torches come on every evening! We also love being on the ground floor where the lanai extends to the yard where our kids can play.
The decor gives the condo an authentic Hawaiian feel. It is stocked with everything you need for the kitchen, laundry, beach, etc! The owner is wonderful to work with and really loves to share her Hawaiian home and is there for any questions you may have!
We can't wait to return!

Working with Carole to plan our Hawaiian vacation was fantastic. She exceeded all expectations in regards to sharing her beautiful Villa with us to rent and helping us with detailed Island information/activities. Her knowledge of the Big Island is abundant. Her Hawaiian home quickly became our home once we arrived. The second you walk into her Villa you instantly feel the warmth and comfort that we all need while on vacation. Kolea 8A is beautifully decorated and stocked with everything you could ever need during your stay. Most importantly, the location is perfect. You are steps away from the pool and beach.
Our trip highlights included a trip to the Seahorse farm, hiking the Rainforest, boogie boarding at Haupuna Beach, cooking fresh lobsters and fish, and snorkeling in A-Bay. Our favorite daily activity was watching the sunset on A-Bay and looking for the green spark of light as the sunset disappeared into the ocean.
Kolea 8A was fully stocked for all our activities. We had beach chairs, a cooler, and boogie boards for our daily trips to Haupuna Beach. We cooked fresh lobster and fresh fish daily with every kitchen tool and cooking equipment that you could ever need. We even had a variety of spices to choose from when I cooked. My children loved that the kitchen had a small refrigerator just for drinks. I loved the fact that we could do laundry and had detergent and stain remover. It’s all the little things that were provided that made our stay so comfortable.
This was one of our favorite vacations. My family was happy, comfortable, and completely entertained. The main reason for the success of our trip was the comfort we felt in Kolea 8A and it’s location to the pool and beach. We thank you Carole for allowing our family to have such a wonderful time in your Hawaiian home.

Thank you Carole for having such a great place!! After multiple times in Hawaii, we were so fortunate to find your place there in Kona. So close to the best beach! Walking distance to all the high end hotels!! And over 15 great restaurants within a ten minute walk. With a great grocery store so close, we never even got into our car. Your place feels much more like a house than a condo. It is THE BEST!!! And your service is unbelievable!!

We have stayed at Kolea 8A condo for many wonderful relaxing weeks. We enjoy the always great weather in late January, the whales that are showing off for each other that time of year, the close walk to the beach or along the shore, being near the pool and workout room. We especially love being able to walk to dinner or shopping, and the availability of so many great golf courses. The condo has everything you need to cook, and is perfect for staying with friends or kids and grandkids. Thank you for so many great stays, Carole. And thanks too for so many nice recommendations of outings to take to enjoy the special places all over the island.

This was our first trip to Hawaii and i was nervous about renting a condo. Even though we own 2 vacation rental homes in Colorado, we had never used VRBO or Trip Advisor for our own vacation (because we have never really taken one!). Well, this villa was all we expected/hoped for and MORE! The owner of the villa was amazing to work with, and the pictures were very representative of the home. We were scared that the pictures would be much better than reality, and the opposite was true; they didn't even come close to representing how wonderful the place was!
Kolea is nicely centrally located so you could walk to Kings and Queens marketplace (the grocery store at Queens is very overpriced, so only get necessities, then go into Kona to Costco or to Waikoloa Beach up north a few minutes to the ABC Market for groceries). We walked to the Marriott for their (very pricey but fun) luau. Literally a 2 minute walk! The Hilton timeshare resort is also a short walk from Kolea.
Kolea is gated so it feels lovely driving up and entering into your private paradise. It was not loud and overrun with families at ALL! the pool and beach area were lovely and quiet and restful, yet you could rent equipment at the beach if you wanted to snorkel or boogie board (it is much cheaper though, to go to Snorkel Bobs a few minutes away at the Mauna Lani resort shops). You can walk the beach past the Marriott over to Lava Lava Beach club and watch the sunset while eating on the beach. Lovely!
The villas are not cheaply constructed at all! The kitchen boasts high end stainless appliances, granite countertops, and beautiful cabinetry. The doors are solid, the floors are nice, the bathrooms are wonderful! The sliding door/wall to the lanai is spectacular. it was so nice to sit on the lanai and have that wall open into the living room! The Viking Grill on the lanai was awesome. we ate most meals at "home". We hung out there because it was so much more pleasant than driving around. And we had a 1 car garage, and the house was so fully stocked with anything we could ever want (including boogie boards and beach stuff!!) Full laundry facilities were heaven sent!!
It is a short drive into Kona, where we did a night snorkel with Manta Rays (FUN!!). go with Wahine Charters for a more personalized experience! We also drove down south of Kona to snorkel ourselves at Two Step (rented gear from Snorkel Bob's in Kona which was a nightmare to find, but then learned they have a location at Mauna Lani, much closer to us!).
The condo/villa was just absolutely amazing! the grounds are kept up so well (a little morning noise of landscape equipment but not bad at all; it just means they take great care of the place!). The little health club at the pool was beautiful (but i didn't use it cuz i'm L.A.Z.Y!), and there was free coffee at the pool each morning!!
At night they light up tiki torches which just looks so cool after the sun goes down.
If we ever go back to Hawaii, we will DEFINITELY stay at Kolea again!! (We went to Maui after Big Island, and hands down the whole family preferred Big Island! Maui is too crowded and touristy, and it just felt like Ft. Lauderdale! Don't even get me started on our condo in Maui compared to the condo at Kolea! Not even a contest! Kolea wins!)
